
Use of electronic evidence in war crimes and related offenses for media and civil society in Ukraine
The training “Introduction to Electronic Evidence of War Crimes and Related Offenses for the Media and Civil Society of Ukraine (HELP Tutoring Course)”, organized by CyberUA, was held offline in Kyiv, Ukraine, on March 17-19, 2025.
The aim of th training was to provide media, journalists and civil society in Ukraine with basic knowledge of cybercrime and electronic evidence in the context of armed conflict, focusing in particular on the following topics
Introduction to computers, networks and cybercrime.
Introduction to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime.
Main provisions.
Electronic evidence and procedural provisions of the Budapest Convention.
Cybercrime in practice and human rights.
The course will be based on the teaching of the Council of Europe HELP online course on cybercrime and electronic evidence, with separate modules provided by the program. Participants will be asked to finalize the entire package of course materials online after the training.
The training will be conducted in an offline format by Ukrainian trainers certified to teach the Council of Europe HELP course on cybercrime and electronic evidence.
Media representatives, journalists and representatives of Ukrainian civil society working in the field of countering the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine are invited to participate in the event.
